Life had a way of moving forward, pulling people apart, shifting them into separate worlds until they became nothing more than memories tucked away in the corners of the mind. They were no longer part of each other’s stories, not even as a distant shadow. Perhaps they had become nothing more than names from the past, echoes lost in time.
But then, something unexpected happened.
That afternoon, in the quiet stillness of a nap, a dream unfolded. And there they were standing right in front, smiling. That smile. The one that once made the entire world stand still. The one that, in an instant, could dissolve every worry, silence every doubt, and bring warmth to even the coldest days. It wasn’t just any smile; it was their smile pure, familiar, and powerful in a way that words could never quite capture.
For a fleeting moment, everything felt the way it once did. The quiet happiness, the sense of peace, the way their presence once filled spaces in the heart that no one else ever could. Even though it was just a dream, it felt real so real that waking up felt almost like losing them all over again. The weight of nostalgia settled in, that bittersweet ache of remembering something beautiful yet unreachable. It was a reminder of how some emotions never truly fade, no matter how much time passes.
And yet, there was no sadness in that dream only happiness. A happiness so rare, so profound, that perhaps it was never meant to be replaced.
Now, as reality settles back in, there’s only one thought that lingers: Wherever they are, I hope they’re happy. Because no matter how much time has passed, or how distant life has made them, some wishes never change. Some people leave a mark so deep that all you can do is hope that, somewhere in the world, they are still smiling.
The Silent Guardian
From the memories of my childhood, a majestic tree stood sentinel, its branches etched against the sky like a gentle guardian. For years, it silently witnessed the ebbs and flows of my life – the laughter, the tears that stained its shade, and the countless memories that clung to its bark like autumn leaves.
As a child, I’d gaze out the window, my eyes locked onto its reassuring presence, waiting for my father’s return. The tree’s limbs seemed to stretch out, embracing me in a wordless hug. During adolescence, its quiet companionship provided solace, a steadfast confidant as I navigated the turbulent waters of first love.
Yet, like a fleeting sunset, I took its presence for granted. The tree’s steadfastness was a constant, a reassuring heartbeat in the background of my life. Its shade sheltered me from summer’s fiery breath, its roots anchored deep, a symbol of stability.
But one fateful day, the tree vanished, leaving an aching void. The sudden absence felt like an amputation, a severing of a vital limb. I mourned the loss, as one would a dear friend.
In its wake, I realized the tree was more than a mere object; it was a testament to the transience of life. Its presence had been a reminder of nature’s beauty, a sacred bond between earth and sky. The tree had seen it all – my childhood wonder, adolescent angst, and adult awakening.
Its departure taught me a poignant lesson: cherish the everyday moments, the unsung heroes, and the quiet companions that enrich our lives. We often overlook the significance of these things until they’re gone, leaving only memories and regret.
To the tree that knew it all, I offer gratitude. Thank you for standing watch, for providing comfort, and for reminding me of life’s simple beauty. Your absence has left a scar, but also a newfound appreciation for the fleeting joys that make life precious.
Appreciate the little things, for they may vanish tomorrow.
The Great Dating Marathon: A Wild Ride of Love, Loss, and Swiping
Ah, love. It can make us feel happy or totally confused, depending on where we are in our dating lives. Are you tired of the dating game? Have you ever found yourself head over heels in love? Experienced the exhilarating thrill of a new relationship, followed by the crushing agony of a breakup? Planned a dream wedding, only to end up planning a hasty divorce? Been cheated on, ghosted, or left wondering if it was all just a cruel joke?
Congratulations, friend! You’re a contender in the ultimate Dating Marathon! A journey filled with twists, turns, and more than a few bumps along the way.
I never signed up for this chaotic dating culture. But life had other plans, and before I knew it, I was swept up in the whirlwind of swiping, matching, and dating. So, what went wrong? Where did all the emotional energy go?
I used to think dating would be a breeze. Swipe, match, date, repeat. But it’s more like swipe, reject, repeat. Are we still humans or just products of a swipe-happy generation? Have we lost the human experience in the sea of dating apps?
As a 90’s kid slowly learning to use gadgets instead of writing love letters, I wonder: Will I ever find someone in the real world? Absolutely not! _swipes left_ The thought alone is exhausting If you can relate.
Imagine this: you’re at a party, surrounded by friends who are all paired up, while you’re there getting asked, “Are you dating anyone? Planning to get married? Or, heaven forbid, are you thinking about divorce?” These questions ring out like annoying jingles from old commercials, making you wonder: is it just me, or is dating one long game of “who’s next?”
At first, I was blissfully unaware of what dating was really like. I thought it was all about cute meet-ups and romantic dinners. Instead, I got thrown into a crazy world of swiping left and right, ghosting, and those confusing “situationships.” You know, when you’re not quite dating but not really single either. It’s like living in a constant “maybe” that feels as comfy as a wet sock.
Let’s talk about expectations. Society tells us to find the perfect partner: the ideal husband, the perfect wife, the flawless relationship. But let’s be honest—are you perfect? Spoiler alert: probably not. If we’re all chasing perfection, why are we surprised when our love lives feel like a bad reality show? I entered this dating marathon thinking I could just run, find my soulmate, and cross the finish line with confetti. But after the fifth “nice to meet you” and a fourth date where he was glued to his phone, I started to doubt my choices.
And then there are the dating apps. They’ve become like a grocery store checkout, where you pick from a bunch of average snacks. You swipe right for the cute guy with the dog, but after a few dates, you find he cares more about his Instagram than having a real chat. Can we bring back awkward phone calls and handwritten notes? At least then, rejection felt more personal and less like a robotic message.
Now, you might wonder if I’ll ever find “the one.” Honestly? I’m starting to think about adopting a cat and calling it a day. But still, I jump back into the dating scene like a kid in a candy store, even if all the candy is stale. I swipe left and right like it’s a game of dodgeball.
To my fellow runners in this wild dating race: keep your head up, your heart open, and your phone charged. Whether you find a long-term partner or just have a funny story to tell, at least you’ll have experiences—like that time you went on a date with a guy who thought “Netflix and chill” was a real business.
In the end, if love is a marathon, let’s embrace the craziness, laugh at the bumps along the way, and most importantly, enjoy the journey. And if you trip and fall? Just get up, brush yourself off, and keep going. Who knows? The finish line might be closer than you think—or at least there might be a taco truck waiting for you. Happy running!
The Fading Petals of Onam: A Reflection on Change and Gratitude
As the last wisps of Onam’s festivities fade away, I’m left with a sense of nostalgia. The vibrant colors, the sweet scent of flowers, and the warmth of loved ones gathered around – it’s hard to believe it’s all come to an end. But as I reflect on the passing of time, I realize that Onam has taught me to appreciate the fleeting moments of beauty in life.
In the chaos of our busy lives, we often forget to cherish the memories we’ve created over the years. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle, overlooking the little things that bring us joy – the taste of Sadya, the sound of traditional music, or the sight of fresh flowers. But Onam reminds me to slow down, to appreciate the beauty in every moment, no matter how fleeting.
As I step into my late 20s, uncertainty looms large. Friends and cousins who once gathered around the Onam table might soon be scattered across the globe, chasing their dreams. Will the colors of flowers still be vibrant next year? Or will they lose their charm, replaced by new experiences and connections? The thought of celebrating Onam without them is daunting, but it’s a reminder to appreciate the present.
Sometimes, when I reach for my phone to text someone, I realize that they might not be there to respond. People move on, circumstances change, and life unfolds in unexpected ways. But Onam teaches me to find joy in the present, to cherish the moments I have with loved ones, and to hold onto them tightly.
In the end, Onam is a celebration of life’s beauty and uncertainty. It’s a reminder to appreciate the little things, to cherish memories, and to find joy in the present. So, let’s enjoy the flowers, Sadya, and the moments of joy while they’re still within reach. For in the end, it’s not the duration of our experiences that matters, but the depth of our connection to them.
A random movie
Today, I want to share with you a movie that has left an indelible mark on my heart. My friend recommended ‘Mr. & Mrs. Iyer’, and I stumbled upon it on YouTube. Initially, I was hesitant, unsure of what to expect. But as the story began to unfold, I found myself entranced. The plot follows a conservative Tamil wife and a liberal Muslim photographer, two individuals from different worlds, who find themselves thrown together on a journey fraught with danger and violence.
As they navigate the landscape, something beautiful emerges amidst the chaos – a love story between two strangers. It’s a tale that will captivate your heart, and you can’t help but be swept away by the journey. The path they take is far more satisfying than the destination, a reminder that sometimes it’s the journey that truly matters.
What I love most about this movie is its gentle way of entering your life. It doesn’t demand attention or drama; it simply makes its presence known, like a soft breeze on a summer day. It makes you laugh, and then, without warning, it whisks you away to a dream world, leaving you feeling happy and safe.
And when it’s time to bid farewell, it does so with a gentle whisper, leaving you with a sense of missing and tears. ‘Mr. & Mrs. Iyer’ is a movie that will stay with you, a reminder of the power of love and connection in a world filled with tension and strife.
Coorg❤️
As the first light of dawn began to break, casting shadows across the landscape, we found ourselves wide awake and buzzing with excitement. It was nearly 4 am, an ungodly hour to some, but for us, it marked the beginning of an unforgettable off-road adventure.
Our trusty driver arrived right on time, a beacon of reliability in the pre-dawn darkness. With adrenaline coursing through our veins, we hastily gathered our essentials, eager to hit the road. The valley awaited, its silent beauty illuminated by the faint glow of the early morning sky. Already, we could see other adventurers gathering, their jeeps lined up in anticipation of the journey ahead.
Amidst the hustle and bustle, a figure caught our eye—a young woman, her presence radiant even in the dim light. It was her birthday, and she had chosen to celebrate with a solo trip, a testament to her adventurous spirit. With her joining our group, our party felt complete, and we set off into the unknown, bound by the promise of discovery.
The road ahead was rough and unforgiving, but each bump and twist only added to the thrill. As we navigated the challenging terrain, the distant peak beckoned us forward, a tantalizing promise of adventure yet to come.
After conquering the wilds of the outdoors, we retreated to the comfort of our resort, a tranquil oasis nestled within a vast coffee plantation. Amidst the rustling leaves and fragrant blooms, we savored a leisurely stroll, our senses alive with the sights and sounds of nature. Lunch at the cozy Big Cup Cafe provided a welcome respite, filling our bellies and warming our souls.
But our journey was far from over. Our next destination: Abbay Waterfalls, a hidden gem tucked away amidst the verdant hills. Here, amidst the soothing rush of cascading water, we found a moment of peace, sharing stories and laughter on weathered benches.
As the day wore on and the sun beat down upon us, exhaustion threatened to overtake us. Yet, fueled by our shared camaraderie, we pressed onward, seeking solace in the serene beauty of Raja Seat. Beneath the fading light of the evening sky, we contemplated life’s mysteries, our hearts full and our minds at ease.
With the day drawing to a close, we indulged in a final indulgence—a whirlwind shopping spree for coffee powder and chocolates, mementos of our unforgettable journey. And as we bid farewell to our driver, the night still young, we sought refuge in the welcoming embrace of quaint cafes, savoring every last moment of our adventure beneath the stars.
Embracing Resilience: A Journey Through Turmoil
Losing those dear to us, feeling the ground slip away beneath our feet, standing solitary in the midnight hours – these were the haunting specters that once loomed large in my life. Just a few short months ago, amidst a fog of confusion, I questioned the direction of my journey. It felt as though the very essence of my existence was being challenged. Yet, amid this turmoil, I clung to one undeniable truth: I am a survivor.
Despite the overwhelming urge to succumb, I resolved to persevere. Recognizing the insidious presence of anxiety within me, I made the courageous decision to confront it head-on. This marked the genesis of my journey towards healing, a journey that therapy would become an integral part of. It was not a path paved with instant gratification; rather, it demanded unwavering commitment and self-discovery.
At times, progress seemed imperceptible, yet there were moments of profound motivation that propelled me forward. With each passing day, the desolate crossroads of my past gradually faded into the distance, replaced by a newfound sense of purpose. Therapy bestowed upon me invaluable insights into my own psyche and the ephemeral nature of existence. Through its guidance, I learned to cherish each fleeting moment, understanding that change is the only constant.
As I continue to traverse this winding road of self-discovery, I am reminded to savor the journey and embrace the evolution of my being. Each step forward is a testament to my resilience and a celebration of the human spirit’s capacity to endure and thrive in the face of adversity.
Madikeri
Arriving in Madikeri bright and early at 5:45 a.m., we were greeted with a sense of accomplishment as our journey thus far had been smooth and enjoyable. Despite the pre-dawn darkness, luck was on our side as we swiftly secured an auto driver who whisked us away to a nearby hotel, where we eagerly freshened up before setting out in search of a hearty breakfast. The March morning air was refreshingly mild, and our senses were delighted when we stumbled upon a cozy eatery where the locals conversed in Malayalam, instantly transporting us to the ambiance of Kerala.
Meeting our designated driver for our staycation only added to the positive vibes of the day, as his kind-hearted demeanor set a pleasant tone for the adventures ahead. Our first destination was the renowned Dubare Elephant Camp, offering us an intimate glimpse into the world of these magnificent creatures. After quenching our thirst with some revitalizing juice, we ventured onward to the enchanting Chiklihole Reservoir, where the serene surroundings seemed to whisper tales of times gone by.
Reluctantly bidding adieu to the tranquil reservoir, we eagerly embraced our next escapade: sampling the famed coffee of Coorg. A mandatory stop at Levista rewarded us with a delightful cappuccino before we continued on to the tranquil Golden Temple, where the soothing chants of mantras enveloped us in a sense of serenity and mindfulness.
Lunchtime found us at Tibet Kitchen, where we savored delectable dishes that pleasantly surprised us with their affordability. With contented stomachs, we proceeded to Avalade Coorg, a breathtaking resort nestled within a sprawling 60-acre coffee plantation. After invigorating hot showers, we eagerly anticipated delving into the wilderness that surrounded us.
However, our excitement was tempered by a cautionary note from the hotel staff regarding potential elephant encounters. Opting for prudence, we chose to spend the remainder of the day relaxing and unwinding at our accommodation, comforted by the knowledge that the promise of further adventures awaited us in the days ahead.

Majestic!!
As the clock neared 11 p.m., we arrived at Majestic bus stand, ready to embark on our journey to Madikeri. The night, draped in a yellow hue, held a special allure for me, reminiscent of the cold Bangalore evenings I so dearly missed. Unlike the early lights-out routine back home, the scene before us was vibrant and alive. Standing by the police station, we observed a diverse array of characters passing by under the soft glow of streetlights. An elderly woman, exuding a sense of calm and familiarity with the surroundings, caught our attention – a testament to her resilience and bold spirit. Meanwhile, shirtless figures stumbled past, their inebriation blurring the line between man and beast. Amidst the hustle and bustle of loading and unloading, the streets transformed into a chaotic symphony of buses, revelers, and law enforcement. Amidst this whirlwind, our bus, the ‘Ashwini’, beckoned us onward. Before bidding adieu to Majestic bus stand, we felt compelled to leave a small token of appreciation for the enigmatic old woman, a silent observer of two contrasting worlds intersecting in the night.
The Journey Begins
